i thought that starting this blog 7 weeks into your life would be sufficient, but i started to think and boy..we've been through so much already. let's back up to october 26, 2009. the day you were planned to join us into this world. you had to come out of mama at 39 weeks due to your frank breech positioning. ever since i was able to feel you inside of me, that is the position you remained in. your little but not so little head rested comfortably for you right underneath my sternum. ouch! so at week 39 i was more then ready to meet my little boy! your birth day is a very special day. your grandparents meme and john sr. were married on that day 30 years ago! i could not have asked for a more meaningful day for you to join us on.
we were asked to be at the hospital by 8 am. when we arrived the nurses brought us to the room we would be staying in for the next 3 1/2 days. after getting all registered and ready for you a nurse came in to inform us that dr. heiss had a few "surprise" surgeries he had to take care of and it won't be too much longer. okay no big deal. four hours later the same nurse arrived and said the dr's were ready! finally!
the c-section begain at approx 1:00 i would say. i remained perfectly calm..until...i saw your daddy's complexion. o boy, i thought i was looking at a ghost!
they let me give you a kiss, and then you were sent up to the nursery to get all cleaned up.
daddy went with you so that relieved mama.
the next 3.5 days you had to remain in the nursery due to an air bubble that was in between your ribs and lung. so here i am, merely 30 ft from you and unable to hold you, kiss you, or love you. it was absolute torture! but when i was able to have you in my arms, i made up for lost time don't you worry!
